Computers for Schools kenya
Several schools around the country face a great challenge due to high enrolment numbers since the introduction of free primary education with instances of one teacher facilitating 100 students. As a result, most students need supplement and remedial classes for them to catch up.
In an effort to meet this challenge Computers for Schools Kenya propose to distribute free radios to 55 needy primary schools across the country with a view to supplement and improve classroom teachers’ work and the quality of education at the target schools. Safaricom Foundation supported the project at a tune of Kshs. 454,000 which was used towards the distribution of 195 free play radios to 55 primary schools in 36 districts around the country.
The pupils can now be able to receive the Kenya Institute of Education (KIE) educational radio programmes aired on KBC and other educational media services.
