About the project
The self-help group used a small and manually operated machine to produce briquettes which wore them out and yet few briquettes were produced. This resulted to low productivity and low profits.
Safaricom Foundation supported the group with 2 modern briquette making machines.
The team is now producing an average of 60 bags of quality briquettes which is an increase from the 20 bags they were producing before. With enough supply, they can distribute to other regions with the aim of building the group financially and supporting the community with the proceeds.
