About the project

The Challenge

The school had a shortage of lockers and chairs which affected the learners’ ability to concentrate in class and pay full attention to their lessons. More than 3 pupils were sharing desks which made them uncomfortable. This reduced their academic performance and furthermore frustrated efforts to adhere to social distancing in light of COVID-19.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation, through the Ndoto Zetu initiative, donated more than 20 lockers and chairs worth KES 100, 000.

The Impact

The pupils are comfortable while they are studying which has translated to improved classwork and performances. They able to observe social distancing in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
