#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

Frequent power interruptions and high cost of electricity bills disrupted a steady water supply to the children’s home with over 1, 000 children and caregivers. It was expensive for them to buy water every day.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated a solar water pump worth KES 67,000

The Impact

The children’s home has a constant supply of water for domestic uses. The home’s soap making and irrigation projects are making progress with enough water to use. They are saving on electricity bills.
