About the project
Perumali, Cheplosgei and Mtaa Umoja self-help groups located in Uasin-Gishu counties faced difficulties with sustainable income-generating activities beyond table banking. Most of them also lacked meeting venues and spent a lot of money purchasing tents during events.
Safaricom Foundation empowered the groups with tents and chairs at KES 150,000 each.
The groups are now able to save money spent in hiring tents, can meet more times, and hire out as an income-generating activity.
