About the project

The Challenge

Expectant mothers travelled for long distances in search for specialized healthcare because the dispensary lacked equipment resulting to expectant mothers being referred to other facilities.

Birth complications and infant mortality cases were on the rise as some mothers could not make it to hospital in time resulting to home deliveries.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated 10 beds, 10 blankets, 10 mattresses and beddings worth KES 500,000.

The Impact

The facility is serving expectant mothers from the area as well as regional communities. They have seen to it that birth complications and infant mortality cases are reduced.
