About the project

The Challenge

The Charity walk initiated by Hon Raphael Tuju aimed at raising funds for the purchase of medical equipment that will enable provision of quality medical services to the many clients it serves. Every month, the hospital receives at least 100 trauma patients by virtue of proximity to the busy Nairobi- Naivasha highway.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation donated a portable ultrasound at a cost of KES 4.5 Million.

The Impact

The equipment is expected to assist the hospital in conducting over 9,000 images per year, diagnose trauma associated injuries and establish the degree of sickness in patients among other functions.
