About the project
Student enrollment had increased from 187 to over 900 pupils so the school laboratory was packed to capacity during science practical lessons. Additionally, the institution being a STEM model school, there was need to prioritize science subjects as part of the curriculum hence the need to improve the state of the current laboratory.
Safaricom Foundation donated a newly furnished laboratory and assorted laboratory apparatus worth KES 4.8 million.
Over 100 students are able to access the science lab at a time. At the same time, there is increased motivation for students taking science subjects as well as those who are interested to pursue at the University level. Moreover, the school has recognized an increase in STEM subjects’ enrollment due to availability of resources for training.
