About the project

The Challenge

The group lacked a viable economic activity that would generate income and sustain the members. Some of the members had to walk kilometers away in order to access a posho mill for grinding cereals for sale. The concern was that some children who had mental illnesses were left unattended to when the members needed to access the posho mill.

The Intervention

Safaricom’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated a posho mill at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

The posho mill, which is now easily accessible, has enabled the members to earn income and use the proceeds to explore other projects. Additionally, the members can take care of their family’s welfare as well as provide basic needs to them.
