About the project

The Challenge

The dispensary faced water shortage being on a hilly area. Despite rainwater being the only option as it was raining quite often, the medical centre lacked a storage facility to tap rainfall. This compromised the hygiene and quality of medical procedures that were being offered especially at this time of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative supported the medical facility with a 10, 000 litre water tank worth KES 175,000.

The Impact

The tank is facilitating harvesting and storage of clean water that has consequently improved the hygiene standards and delivery of medical services to patients.
