About the project

The Challenge

The health facility struggled to attend to the residents in Kibra due to insufficient supply of medical equipment. The available equipment were old and worn out thus unable to sustain the growing population. The residents sought free medical services as they cannot afford to pay.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated 3 beds, 1 suction machine, 1 delivery bed, examination couch and a microscope equipment.

The Impact

The medical clinic will increase uptake of service delivery to the residents due to availability of working equipment. The facility is now in capacity to control birth complications and reduce the spread of infections. In addition, Kibra residents are now assured of quality medical services therefore they will seek medical attention with confidence.
