About the project
The CBO runs a program called Action for Orphans which is a local resource mobilization campaign to support the youth through training and provision of startup kits for businesses. The organization needed support on kits that will benefit the 2020 students who just graduated from the one-year training.
Safaricom Foundation handed over toolkits kits worth KES 547,000 that will benefit 28 trainees. The kits have supported youths in different fields such as Food and beverage, welding, fashion design and garment making, building technology and motor vehicle assembly.
The items have been a great boost to the trainees to start sustainable micro enterprises which will empower them to become independent and therefore support a chain of other youths. Through the businesses, their families and the community at large will be elevated.
