About the project

The Challenge

The community library needed a fresh supply of books as the available ones were old, worn out and outdated since there has been a shift from the 8-4-4 system to the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). Additionally, many people and several schools accessed the library leading to loss, damage as well unaccountability of books.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative handed over books to the community library at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

Students and community members are now accessing the library for research work and recreational reading. This has resulted to development of a reading culture as well as a well-informed community.
