About the project
Sega special School for the hearing impaired is a public primary school that was started in September 2009 as a wing of Sega Township Primary School as a Vocational School. It was registered by the Ministry of Education in 2010.
The school has 57 pupils comprising of 27 boys and 38 girls and 8 home care based pupils who have multiple disabilities.
The school lacks infrastructure and they only have two classrooms given to them by Sega Township Primary School
Safaricom Foundation contributed Sh 2.5 Million towards the construction of a dormitory and ablution block.
The pupils now have a comfortable place to relax and rest after learning. They also have clean and ample sanitation facilities that will see a reduction to various ailments that plagued the pupils before.
