#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

The center had inadequate sewing machines that could not accommodate the increasing number of enrolments. There were only two functional machines that limited offering training services for the mothers. They also had to work in shifts which delayed delivery of clients’ orders.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated four sewing machines at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

The women are empowering themselves through the talents of design. The income generated is increasing circulation of money in the center hence the women are self-sufficient and able to support their families and the community at large.
