About the project

The Challenge

Pupils used to fetch water from a river which had contaminated water. This caused waterborne diseases which affected their school attendance and performance. The lack of a source of water in the school compound meant that they carried water from home for use in school.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative supported the school with a 10, 000 litre water tank at a cost of KES 100, 000.

The Impact

The tank is providing a source of clean and safe water for use in the school compound.
