About the project

The Challenge

The school lacked enough water in the school compound for 450 of its pupils. The tank they had could not fulfill their demands which led them to fetch water from a nearby stream. The stream’s water was contaminated and posed a risk to their health. Pupils disrupted studies to go and fetch water.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme donated two 10, 000 litre water tanks worth KES 300, 000.

The Impact

Pupils are concentrating fully on their studies. The water is clean and safe for drinking. It is also enough for all school activities.
