About the project

The Challenge

The Kamikuyu County Polytechnic had a dilapidated ICT room and lacked the necessary equipment needed for ICT lessons. It needed a new ceiling board and burglar proof door. This lack of contemporary educational facilities had slowed down the enrolment process of the college.

The Intervention

Aiming to improve the social and economic well-being of Kenyans through technology and innovation, the Safaricom Foundation invested Ksh. 4 million towards the renovation, furnishing and equipping of the ICT laboratory.

The Impact

The newly renovated and fully equipped ICT laboratory will encourage the current and potential students from Mwea West Sub-County to use the ICT Lab and offer technological and innovative solutions to solve the local problems affecting the people.
