#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

Covid-19 pandemic had affected access to basic needs due to job losses and economy decline in general. The caregivers at the children’s home faced uncertainty with access to food. Some of their supporters such as organizations had decreased their contributions citing the Covid 19 pandemic.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation donated food hampers at a cost of KES 500,000. The hamper includes flour, rice, cooking oil, cereals, milk and soap.

The Impact

The caregivers have food for their families and don’t face the risk of hunger. They  are motivated to take care of the orphans.
