About the project
Health workers in far-flung areas such as Turkana were vulnerable to the COVID-19 disease. This is because they lacked enough personal protective equipment to use as they provided care to coronavirus patients.
Safaricom Foundation handed over personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth KES 1.5 million to health workers in Turkana County to combat the disease. The PPEs included N95 masks, protective gowns, goggles and shoes, gloves among other assorted protective gear.
Health workers in the county are well-protected as they use the PPEs to provide services to their patients. Their delivery has been enhanced because they are working without fear of infection.
