About the project

The Challenge

The county had been experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases. This required the health workers to work safely as they attended to patients to prevent them from getting infected and spreading the disease.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation is supporting health workers with personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth KES 1.5 million. The PPEs include gloves, protective googles and shoes, N95 masks and assorted protective clothing.

The Impact

The medics are safely managing the disease without putting their lives and those of their immediate families at risk of infection. Moreover, the public are confident that they are protected when seeking medical attention.
