About the project
The COVID -19 disease had spread from major hotspots in the capital city to the counties upcountry. As such, health workers in Makueni County were dealing with rising COVID-19 cases which were slightly above 100. They needed to be protected from the disease as the provided services.
Safaricom Foundation handed over personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth KES 1.5 million to health workers in Makueni County to combat the disease. The PPEs included N95 masks, protective gowns, goggles and shoes, gloves among other assorted protective gear.
Health workers are providing the essential service with low risk of infections to themselves and low chances of spreading the disease. The high quality PPEs are protecting them adequately.
