About the project

The Challenge

At the time, the county’s COVID-19 cases were at 203 prompting health workers to intensify their efforts to manage the disease. They needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid getting infected and spreading the disease.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to Garissa County at a cost of KES 1.5 million. The equipment included N95 masks, surgical masks, gloves, gowns and googles.

The Impact

 

Health workers in the county are offering services using the PPEs with low risk of COVID-19 infections to them.
