About the project

The Challenge

Some pupils could not afford school uniforms mainly because some of them were total or partial orphans while others were disadvantaged in some way or another. This affected their self-esteem as they felt left out and alienated.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative supported the 111 pupils with school uniforms worth KES 100,000. The uniform includes shirts, dresses and shorts.

The Impact

The school attire has created a sense of identity for the students ensuring easy tracking of students’ movement in the school. Parents have been spared the burden of purchasing the items while students have been motivated to attend school.
