About the project
The school had no boarding structure, no enough beds, inadequate washrooms and even no privacy since a classroom had been repurposed to a boarding unit. The sleeping environment was not conducive for the girls in the school.
Safaricom Foundation constructed a dormitory which has four bathrooms and four toilets at a cost of KES 4.5 million. The structure was also equipped with twenty-nine double deckers, fifty-eight mattresses, a water tank and shelves for storing boxes.
The new dormitory which is spacious has provided a conducive environment for resting after a full day of learning. More girls are also assured of continuing with their studies as they no longer need to commute from home to school.
