About the project

The Challenge

The main issue was lack of classrooms and furniture for pre-primary learners. The school had semi-permanent classes that were constructed from iron sheets and had earthen floors. The environment was neither safe nor conducive for learning.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation supported the school with two constructed ECD classrooms which were equipped with seventy-two tables and chairs at cost of KES 2.7 Million.

The Impact

The modern classrooms have given the school a facelift and this has in turn attracted pupils’ enrolment. Moreover, the new developments will help in improving the learning environment for the students, translating to good performance.
