About the project

The Challenge

The facility lacked the necessary lab equipment to conduct tests and diagnosis of medical conditions prompting them to refer patients to other hospitals. This delayed treatment as the referral hospitals were located far away from the health Centre.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Pamoja Scheme supported the health care centre with a laboratory equipment at a cost of KES 700,000. The items included centrifuge, microscope, incubator, printer, laptop and a refrigerator for storing reagents.

The Impact

The facility is now attending to more patients with accurate diagnosis without delay. Patients no longer need to stretch their resources in travelling to other hospitals for treatment.
