#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

The group supports a girls’ football team in Kangemi called Santos Queens. However due to financial constraints the group had challenges supporting the team. They ran the risk of depleting their savings and getting into debt if they did not find an income generating activity.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu donated 2 tents and 100 chairs at a cost of KES 150,000.

The Impact

The income made from the hire of tents and chairs is supporting the running of the team as well as contributing to the group’s savings account. The girls are staying away from societal vices.
