About the project

The Challenge

The water catchment area was poorly constructed with no barriers exposing the residents to falls and drowning. Additionally, the water was unsafe for consumption with no seal exposing the community to waterborne diseases.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation refurbished the water catchment at a cost of KES 390,500.

The Impact

Three outlets were channeled out of the water catchment which has resulted to adequate provision of water. The available water is now safe for consumption while the installed barriers have secured the residents from incidences such as falls and drowning.
