About the project

The Challenge

The dispensary lacked machinery to conduct tests and scans for mothers which are essential during the ANC clinics. The number of women seeking delivery and post-natal care had overwhelmed their resources prompting the dispensary to refer mothers to other facilities in order to save their lives and their unborn children.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Pamoja Scheme donated maternity wing medical equipment at a cost of KES 1 Million. The equipment comprises of an Electric Microscope, baby weighing scale, Ultrasound machine, Haemoglobin machine and delivery sets among others.

The Impact

The items have boosted the maternity services in the dispensary. The facility has also built confidence among clients consequently increasing the number of patients seeking health services.
