About the project

The Challenge

Pupils were recording poor performance in languages mainly due to lack of access to story books, Swahili books, dictionaries and Kamusis that would enhance their language skills. Additionally, pupils could not express themselves fluently in verbal and in written Swahili and English.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative handed over books worth KES 100,000.

The Impact

Access to these books has contributed to cultivation of the students’ reading culture and uplifting of scores in languages as well as the overall performance. Students are now confident expressing themselves in speech and in writing.
