About the project

The Challenge

The school had outdated books yet the syllabus had changed. This was a great concern for students in Grade 5 and 8 who were not in harmony with students in other schools. Moreover, there were limited revision and story books in the school which affected the students’ ability to perform well in academics.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Ndoto Zetu initiative supported the school with revision books, Kamusi, dictionaries and story books at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

The availability of books has motivated the students to study and to be at par with the updated curriculum. This is expected to improve the reading culture of the school and consequently elevate the academic performance.
