About the project

The Challenge

The school could not access piped water; the nearest water source was 10km away. Students were required to carry water from home to enable smooth running of school activities. Additionally, they lacked storage facilities to trap rain water.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme supported the school with 4 water tanks worth KES 506,000.

The Impact

The school has enough water to take care of drinking, cleaning and cooking. They are harvesting water for future use as well as for emergencies such as prolonged drought.
