About the project

The Challenge

The classrooms were old and dilapidated. The learning environment demotivated students and this resulted to decreased class attendance and participation.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme handed over a renovated classroom equipped with 28 desks at a cost of KES 600,000. A new roof was placed, the floors tiled, walls painted and a new chalk board mounted. The corridors and the ramp were smoothened too.

The Impact

The pupils are excited to use the revamped classroom as it serves as a great motivation for them since it is inspirational and conducive for learning. The health and safety of the school is also assured as they need not worry about worn out classrooms with a risk of collapsing walls or dusty floors.
