About the project
Mary Rice Centre has been supporting children with special needs at zero fee for the past thirteen years. The center had taken responsibility in providing meals, medication, education and even acquiring therapy adaptive devices for children who came from underprivileged families. Funds obtained from their yearly walks sponsored the activities but unfortunately did not cover all the essentials.
Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated therapy equipment which includes; speech therapy equipment, wheelchairs, sitting and walking aids at a cost of KES 300,000.
The equipment is facilitating successful therapy session which are achieving early intervention. Children are acquiring life skills such as speech, walking and crawling hence becoming independent and working towards attaining their dreams. The funds raised from their yearly walks are now directed towards providing basic needs for the children.
