About the project
The school lacked essential resources such as adequate classrooms and a well-equipped library that would provide a conducive learning environment. Absence of the school library limited the students’ ability to revise and research beyond class work. In addition, books kept getting lost or misplaced at home as there was no safe space to store them.
Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme, supported the school with a new and equipped library comprising of shelves, a wall to wall table and 30 chairs at a cost of KES 970,000.
The library has provided adequate space for bringing in more books that will enable teachers and students to conduct research. There is also a systematic method that will allow borrowing of books and accountability to ensure they are not misplaced.
