About the project

The Challenge

The available desks could not accommodate the number of students in the school, forcing them to share. Parents were also not economically empowered to contribute money for purchasing more desks. This disrupted lessons as teachers had to look for alternative ways to avoid congestion in class.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation supported the school with 28 desks and chairs at a cost of KES 200,000.

The Impact

The desks have enabled social distancing during classes giving students and teachers confidence that they are learning in a conducive environment with minimal risks of getting sick. There is ample space for reading and writing hence improving the performance.
