About the project
The pre-school has had a water crisis for a long time to an extent that the young learners had to carry water from home to be used in school. Safety of the water was also not guaranteed as some students could only get recycled water.
Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative set up a water harvesting system for KES 175,000. It comprised of a 10,000-liter water tank and water gutters for the harvesting of rainwater.
The school is conserving water for cleaning, preparing school meals and washing hands as recommended for Covid-19 management. The students will also maximize school time for studies hence improvement in school performance.
