#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

The center was having inadequate resources to empower young girls and women economically. The situation made it difficult for them to support their families.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated sewing machines at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

More young girls and women especially widows are economically empowered. They can learn how to sew, sell uniforms and eventually help to support the orphans. The income can go to educating children and meeting medical expenses.
