About the project
Lelboinet Boys High School is located in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The school with a population of 463 students lacked an adequate storage water tank. During dry spell seasons, students were forced to trek for long distances in search of clean water affecting thus affecting their academic performance.
The Safaricom Foundation partnered with Lelboinet High School and funded the construction of a water tank at a cost of KES. 1,200,000. This was to create an environment that would enable the students to learn effectively and thrive in their quest for quality education.
The new 80,000 cubic meter water tank project is a great resource that has uplifted the lives of the students and teachers from Lelboinet High School. Students can now have access to clean water within the school premises. Students will perform better and improve in their academic standards. The Safaricom Foundation has focused its efforts on education in a bid to uplift the face of education and upgrade learning facilities across the country.
