About the project

The Challenge

Lack of a reliable water supply at the school led to pupils drawing water from untrusted water sources. This risked their health. They had to carry water from home for use in school. They disrupted their studies looking for water which affected their performances.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu donated a water harvesting system at a cost of KES 175, 000. They included a 10,000 liter water tank, a water tank stand, and water gutters for harvesting.

The Impact

The pupils have a reliable source of clean and safe water. They are maximizing time on their studies which is improving their performances. They are at low risk of waterborne disease and COVID-19.
