#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

The women experienced insufficient startup capital to manage the group’s businesses and low levels of saving by members. They were deficient in the necessary tools and equipment to offer decent and modernized services to clients. Members of this group lacked appropriate skills and entrepreneurship empowerment.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s ndoto Zetu Initiative donated Tents and Chairs at the cost of KES 150,000

The Impact

The group can now carry out their catering activities successfully without hiring tents and chairs hence saving the money. The income generated is a boost to their table banking activities, which they have been conducting. In addition to that, the group will be in a capacity to offer social welfare support to vulnerable members during communal activities.
