About the project
Some of the active women in the group did not have sustainable means to generate income. They relied on their family members in order to meet their personal needs. Another set-back was that some girls could not afford sanitary towels.
Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated four sewing machines at a cost of KES 100,000.
The group earns income from the sale of dresses and other garments that they make themselves. Girls are now more confident as their dignity is restored through the provision of sanitary towels that are made by the women.
