About the project
The classrooms were old and dilapidated, walls had cracks while the floors had holes. Additionally, the school’s population had out run the available desks and chairs which were old and worn out. The learning environment was not conducive and this reduced pupils’ concentration consequently affecting their performance.
Safaricom Foundation, through the Pamoja Scheme, handed over a renovated classroom at a cost KES 600,000. The classroom was plastered and painted, floors made smooth and permanent and the roof repaired.
The classroom is now conducive for learning hence stimulating pupils’ concentration and participation in class. Additionally, the new facelift is expected to be an attraction to many in the community therefore a boost in school enrollment.
