About the project
The COVID-19 pandemic had caused learning institutions to be shut. This led to students, who are part of Safaricom Foundation’s TVET programme, to learn online to adapt to the new normal. Some students could not afford to e-learning because they didn’t have enough data bundles.
The Safaricom Foundation donated a 3 months’ supply of airtime worth KES 525, 000 to 300 students at Kibondeni College for e-learning. 100 students will also receive scholarships in January 2021 as part of Safaricom Foundation’s TVET programme.
The students, most of whom are taking food and beverage, can catch up with their studies without interruptions.
