About the project
Endebess Constituency has a population of 137, 655. The constituency is on an area of 680.00 square kilometers.
Many people do not have access to medical facilities due to distance or lack of funds. Most medical conditions end up untreated due to this.
Therefore, there was a great need to bring the free medical camp to the people of Endebess County.
Safaricom Foundation in partnership with the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre took a free medical camp to the people of Endebess.
The Safaricom Foundation invested Kshs2.5 million in this camp which will host a number of clinics such as diabetes, dental, optical, prostate and cervical cancer, hypertension, VCT, family planning, deworming as well as general care services.
Over 1, 800 people got access to free and quality medical care while those with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and hypertension learnt more about how to manage their condition and lead healthy lifestyles.
The patients with eye cataracts received free corrective surgeries and the cancer patients and other serious cases got free referrals for further check-up, treatment and consultations.
