About the project
The main challenge in the school was access to reading materials. The school’s huge population strained the available books forcing pupils to share. This demotivated the pupils as learning was cumbersome.
Through the intervention of V-Centre of Empowerment, a CBO that values community development, Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative handed over text books from grade 1 to 5 worth KES 100,000.
The additional books have supplemented what the government had earlier supplied to the school hence a big financial relief to the school. The pupils no longer need to share the books and therefore, they are able to concentrate in class as well as complete extra work and revision at home.
