About the project

The Challenge

The school’s kitchen was constructed from iron sheets and would occasionally leak when it rained. The kitchen was not spacious and had no cemented floor and chimneys, frustrating the cooks especially when running the school’s feeding program where they provide porridge.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme constructed a kitchen at a cost of KES 1,000,000.

The Impact

The facility has provided ample space for students to queue for porridge as well as given the cooks an easy time when they prepare meals.
