About the project

The Challenge

The school had shortage of desks while the available ones were old, worn out and could not accommodate the population of pupils. Water shortage in the school also forced students to carry water from home or source from the nearby dam. This shifted the children’s focus from class work to fetching water.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja scheme supported the school with two 5,000 liters water tanks and 23 desks at a cost of KES 258,425.

The Impact

The desks are expected to be issued to grade four, five, and six pupils in a bid to resolve the issue of congestion and discomfort in class. The tank is also been used to harvest and storing water that is safe for consumption and cleaning.
