About the project
The school had a special unit for pupils living with disability, however the classroom was old, worn out and excluded from the other classes. The students were prompted to cover a distance in order to access the main school area. Additionally, the available furniture was not suitable for these students especially for those who needed support when sitting consequently affecting learning.
Safaricom foundation’s Pamoja Scheme handed over a constructed classroom and 25 desks at a cost of 1Million.
The new facility has improved the learning standards in the school as well as reduced the students transfer rates to other schools. The improved conducive environment has also attracted more students from the community to enroll and pursue their education.
